On September 27, 2024, a jury in Fairmont, Minnesota returned a defense verdict for the client of Meagher + Geer attorneys, Rodger Hagen and Kate Baker. After an 8-day trial, the Martin County jury found that permanent nerve and muscle injuries sustained by a high school football player who fractured his leg during a game were not a result of allegedly negligent medical care provided by their client, but were unavoidable consequences of his original injury.

In closing argument, counsel for the plaintiff sought a damage award in excess of $7.85 million.
