Meagher & Geer’s Insurance Coverage practice group has a national reputation and may be one of the largest such groups outside the nation’s major financial centers. We work regularly with hundreds of insurance companies, including some of the largest and most well known in the U.S. We represent several clients nationally or regionally for a wide variety of claims and various lines of business. Our firm has played a significant role in developing insurance case law in high profile insurance coverage actions across the country. We write coverage opinions and make recommendations regarding all lines of property and casualty insurance (e.g., comprehensive general liability, automobile, garagekeepers, employment practices, all types of professional liability and errors and omissions, directors and officers, environmental, truckers, contractors liability, construction wraps, specialty lines, sexual misconduct, surplus lines, excess, umbrella, fire, fidelity bond, all risk, business interruption and contingent liability), life insurance, and accident and health insurance. We serve as monitoring or coverage counsel in complex litigation, including directors and officers claims.
Meagher & Geer also has a substantial Professional Liability practice, comprised of 22 lawyers. We represent professionals such as physicians, nurses, medical technicians, accountants, architects and engineers, insurance and financial brokers, land surveyors, property managers, property inspectors, real estate appraisers, agents and brokers, and lawyers in a wide range of matters including errors and omissions liability, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud, SEC investigations and regulatory proceedings, design and construction defects, product failures, title, real estate and insurance agent liability, licensing and disciplinary proceedings and copyright and trademark infringement.
